Our History
Calvary Southern Baptist Church has enjoyed a rich history in North Las Vegas, Nevada, for over 60 years. Through the God led vision of one-man, Rev. Reeves, people continue to be reached for Christ. Although the church did not begin to flourish until the leadership of pastor Jaffus L. Haley Jr. People come together according to culture and race, but God moves according to belief in His Son Jesus Christ. Prayerfully, Calvary will continue to allow God to use its membership to grow the gospel, because Calvary's history is still being written. Just as in the beginning, Calvary’s Vision is clear and Calvary’s Mission is simple.
Our vision
Our vision is to be a people after God’s own heart and to be a church with a passion for God and people. Our purpose is to glorify God through the spiritual transformation of the individual, family, community, and world through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our mission
This mission is carried out by exalting Christ through evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, worship, and ministry. We will engage in preaching, teaching, giving, sharing, and serving our fellowman in love. The Holy Bible will be the basis of our mission, message, means, methods, and mandate.
